We love tours here at Pangaea and think they are often the best way to see a region, experience its culture, and partake in activities under the expert guidance of local guides and experts. Unfortunately, an average tour will consist of plane flights, rentals vehicles for transfers, hotel stays, and other forms of transportation. All of these items burn fossil fuels and are producing harmful carbon dioxide emissions, further warming the Earth's climate. Consider the following:

• 10: approximate number of gallons of crude oil required to make one gallon of jet fuel
• 77: number of gallons of jet fuel needed for a person to travel from New York to Los Angeles on a commercial jet plane
• A round trip flight from LAX to Paris will burn almost three metric tons of carbon emissions.
